Hey folks, I have recently come down with a nasty case of the stomach flu. I'm wondering, does anyone have any advice for getting over the stomach flu? What liquids and foods can I consume to help me coax my way though it?

I always drink pots of herbal tea, "Fennel Tea" without sugar. Take little sips to keep it down, but do it frequently. If you get very hungry cut slices of dry toast into little squares and munch on them until you can keep it down. Other than that I just lie on the sofa wrapped in a blanket and doze, watch a bit of TV or read. No heavy work or moving around too much. Also I can't let anyone cook in the house because the smell of food makes me sicker. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

You'll get over it when it runs its natural course. There's nothing you can do to change that. Just rest, drink plenty of liquids and eat whatever you can hold down.

My mom always swore this helps , she used to boil some water then she would add lemon juice and a bit of honey and get us to drink it . It would be similar to a Neo Citran without the medication they add to that . My mom always said the more liquid you could get into you the quicker you will rid yourself of the virus you are carrying . Hope you feel better soon :)
