Tatoo's used to be associated with bad boys and biker's and they were sterotyped. Nowadays many people have them. Do you judge people with them for there tatoo's or piercings as rebels or think this is the new "norm"?

I do not judge people for having tattoos or peircings as that would be hypocritical. I have a few peircings as well as 3 tattoos. I feel what epople do with their body is no ones business but their own. If you want to put tattoos all over yourself that is your business. Who am I to judge.

Tattoos are just another form of expression, and I don't bag on people for expressing themselves, especially with something as beautiful as tattoos..I plan to be covered in them when I breal free of childhood.

i would like to get a tattoo someday. but it would have to be something meaningful to me. i don't like how people get tattoos and random objects that don't mean anything for them, they're going to be stuck with it forever. but if they want to permanently put something on their body that doesn't particularly mean anything to them, they should feel free.

In general I feel like tattoos are not taken seriously enough. Sure, they have become more acceptable but very little concern is given to the permanency of this "body art" Most piercings can be easily removed, leaving nothing but a tiny scar. (Save for large gauage earings and such) I have a teenage step-daughter who has gotten many tattoos and piercings with her mother's permission. Personally, when I look at them I have to wonder how she would look in her wedding gown, or in any formal dress. She has recently moved in with us and I am not very fond of the whole "look". Will she still like her choices when she is looking for an "adult" job or when she attends her first mommy & class someday? On the flip side of this discussion I have cousins who work construction and ride motorcycles. In the line of work they have chosen thier tattos are acceptable. Both have chosen thier artists carefully and despite having large portions of thier body colored, they are not terribly offensive. They also were both adults before gwtting their tattoos. I guess what I am saying is I would prefer people waited until they are old enough to know the impact of the tattoos or piercings on their job and other endevors. Attention should also be given to the placement of these decorations as to allow for changes in dress or style.
