Mohammad Younus, the Indonesian banker turned social reformer, has come a long way since he launched his Grameena Bank Scheme more than a decade ago. He realised that small vendors, vegetable sellers were suffering in his country for lack of timely finance. They needed only small amounts to help them cope up with unforeseen market downs. So he developed the idea of 'MicroCredit'(see my discussion on the same issue a few days ago!)and it has become very popular in his country, Bangladesh! Soon, it spread to other south-east Asian coutries like malaysia and is even knocking on the doors of some developed countries! I saw a documentary film on his efforts last month. My congratulations to him! He is sharing the Nobel Prize(close to a million$) with the Grameena Bank. He was unanimously selected out of more than 100 shortlisted finalists.

Certainly it was a great election! Also it was a great election of yours to post it as a discussion.
