In the electric guitar world, the main sounds come from these three amplifier brands... I'm talking about big tube amps. For people playing tube amps but also for people like me not having tube amps, which sound do you prefer? Some years ago I'd have preferred Mesa Boogie, player by most grunge bands... but now I'm preferring Marshall sounds (think about JCM800...).

To be honest, my partner prefers his Mesa Boogie gear. It suits him and his music, however he does have some of the Marshall although it doesn't get used so often these days.

Which genre does your partner play on guitar? What are his favourite bands?

He plays mainly goth, influenced by bands like The Cure, The Mission and Sisters of Mercy. However, he is very versatile and lately we've been getting back into some of the early Pink Floyd material.

Hello! I think there are a lot of good tube amps! Old Gibson amps, Fender amps, Bad Cat, Flotatone, Magnatone...etc. I am bass player and I have Mesa Boogie 400 amp and Mesa Boogie 2 x 15 cabinet. I bought these -88. Good enough for for me. heh heh I also have JCM 800 100 W combo -84? It has very good clean channel, but the other one is not that good. I think. Greetings from Finland!

Hello! Do you use Marshall JCM800 playing bass? I never thought it was possible... Don't you like the overdrive channel of Marshall JCM800? I read it was one of the most used distortion, don't you think? Bye.

Hello! I can use my Mesa Boogie and Marshall with my bass together!!!! I have old ART Nightbass. With crossover I can drive low ends to Mesa Boogie and effected high end to Marshall. Mostly I use Marshall with my guitar. I have now Fender Bassman head and 2 x 12 cabinet (old ones 1965) Fender head is 50w. I can use it in small clubs with my bass. It is awesome guitar amp too! Greetings from Finland!

Hey All, I play bass & prefer my Trainer tube head from the late 1960s. It provides a great full sound. Distortion can also be obtained but in a tasteful way. However I do like my 2x15 Mesa Boogie cabinet. I only wish I could carry it. =(
