Have any of you suffered from this. I started writing one day and noticed on Sunday that my articles where downrated and had nasty little comments all over them. This has happened the last two Sunday's in a row. I sware this person is subscribed to me and I can't figure out who it is. I erased them to only have more pop up. Is there any advise out there for this? Have you been a victim and if so share your story please. I would like to get to the bottom of this.

That is disturbing. I haven't had this happen to me. I thought when you leave a comment your icon and a link to your own AC content producer page shows up with the comment itself - is that not happening in this case? I also wasn't aware that you can delete comments - that's good to know! I hope you get to the bottom of this and the problem is resolved. I don't understand people who waste time and energy sabotaging the efforts of others.

The derater has discovered that you can leave a comment on someone's article without them doing this. Here's how: Don't log in, search for the person by either name or article, then you can rate and leave an anonymus comment on the article.Articles are only allowed three anonymus comments on them. So, yes you can leave comments on someone's page without them knowing who it is.

Wow, I didn't even realize that people could rate AC articles anonymously. The bigger issue, however, is why someone wants to spend all that time and energy being negative toward someone? Too many crazy folks out there. Do you have any clue who it might be?

I knew you could rate articles anonymously, but I thought you had to be an AC member and logged in to leave a comment. Didn't know about the 3 anonymous comments per article limit either. I think I've learned more about AC on Mylot than on AC!

I've never suffered from it and it's like what the first poster mentioned. You can view their page and I'm sure you can mention this to the administrators. They'll handle it. Have you gone into their forums and brought this problem up? I've seen a few others in the forums questioning this as well.
I have another comment in regards to situations like these. They're common especially in the world of article writing. When you write an article, you're including both the story's facts and your opinions (if need be). It seems like there's a Simon Cowell amongst the AC website. You probably said something that offended another AC member and they took it personally. Even try contacting them especially if you feel they're subscribed to you. That helps in finding them much easier. I don't see how it's so hard to figure out who it is, though. You'll get to the bottom of it, eventually.

I can't figure out who it is because they go on as anonymus( I don't know if I am spelling this right, someone please correct me)and then leave their comments for me to find.

Sorry to hear that someone has written those kind of comments..I think people should have the courtesy of not writing anything if they don't have anything nice to say..My ratings went down..but I feel it's because I am not always on ..I hope your ratings get back up..and I give you a plus..hoping that will help;)+

thank you but I wasn't talking about Mylot, istead I was talkiing about Associated Content which is a place for writers to write and get published. I will admit though I have also seen this here. I always give a plus to everyome if they take the time to write a good comment and not just a few words. I hate it when people on here write comments that just have a few words in them, are way off topic, or just says that they don't know an answer to this. I know that I should have been more clear as to what I was talking about. I sometimes find it hard to read all of the comments before I write my own when there are ten pages worth of comments. Don't feel bad about misunderstanding me, you weren't the first one and I would like to thank you for your comment.

I haven't experienced it--maybe I should be glad I don't get more comments on my articles than I do--butI have heard others mention this.
One person I met an another forum said she received many nasty comments on her articles, many of which concered homeschooling. I'm guessing the comments were about her schoolling techniques or something like that rather than her writing style, but I'm not sure.

This person finds it fun to attack the writer and not their work. He/she will make fun of you and call you a bad writer and then try to get you to leave. I think that it is a person who has had a bad run in with AC. This person seems to know their way around.

I haven't tried Associated Content yet but I just put something up that I'm in the process of editing so this is disturbing. It sounds like AC has acquired a good case of the same sort of thing currently afflicting Mylot.
Have uyou tried reporting this to the site?

I like this forum to but people have also been accused of spamming in there and where called names for it. I think that if I am going to sign up for something then someone should benefit from it. I always ask them if they have a referal link to the site so the can get credit for it.

AC is a great place to write but there is a lot of drama in there. I would advise to use the forum as little as possible and to not piss anybody off. It reminds me of an online highschool.

Amen, Rosa!
The only good part of the forums is the sub-heading "Other Online Gigs"....That's how I found mylot and some other paying jobs too.
But the general discussion forums are better avoided.

I haven't had this happen to me yet and I hope it doesn't happen at all. I don't understand why anyone would do this. I wonder if it is just a spammer. If I were you if this keeps happening I would contact AC and report this person. If you figure out who it is please let us know so we can be on the look out. :)

The offers they give me are pretty fair also, I mean I'm not complaining but they should get a better handle on some of the things that are going on. I like AC but I think that some of the people are giving them a bad name.

Yes Rosa it has just happened to me do not get downhearted and report the Person every time, it looks like we have new Members appearing on here terrorizing the Site and we Members that have been here for a bit need to stop it and not let them ruin a good Site, so report every time it happens. That is what I am doing and mylot will get rid of them

Not a problem. AC stands for Associated Content. It is a site that pays you to write articles for the. I like it there but like I said there is a lot of drama also.

There are people who enjoy only criticism. They have nothing creative work so they spend their time in only criticising. It is better to leave such people at their own and continue our work leaving such cheap comments. Such cheap comments show the quality of people not our writings. My advice is to keep on writing what you think is proper. The people will be commenting in future also. Such comments will sharpen your writing, I hope. Best of luck !!

I don't think you should worry about the crazy comments people leave; reasonable people who bother to come over and read your articles will recognize that the poster is the crazy one, not the author. I guess those who criticize don't realize that people can see them for what they are, which is fools.

Word of wisdom...thank you for this comment it made a lot of sense and I think that this is exactly what I intend to do, just ignore them. The good news is that each time this person visits my article, my page views go up,the bad news is that everyone can see the comments left behind if I don't erase them quick enough.

This is really strange. I can't imagine spending their time, subscribing to someone only to downrate them. For me, I have so little time that if I am going to take the time to subscribe to the person, I would want to rate them well and have them do the same for me. If they are leaving nasty remarks, however, you must be able to see their name, right?

not if they go under anonymus. People can be very sneaky when it comes to computer's.

I try not to read the comments. In fact,I wish AC didn't allow comments, actually. There are some people who get a thrill out of trashing other people's work.
