I do consider myself a peacemaker. I dont gossip and when other's do, I am the first to walk away. I find that this alone helps me to be a peacemaker. You cannot smooth over something that someone else did or said if you were part of it. I try to only say good things about and to others. This is a way of uplifting them instead of tearing down their personality or character. I also try to help others see that we all make mistakes and to smooth over what someone said to offend the person while still being truthful and honest.

I raised 5 boys. From that I learned that an extra pair of ears or two would be an amazing attribute for any peacemaker. You have to listen to more than one person at a time telling you that he's right and the other is wrong.
I had to teach patience, tolerance, respect and forgiveness. It's a shame mothers don't have more political clout in the world. Most times a dispute can be settled with "because I said so".

I consider myself a peacemaker. I do not take sides, keep open minded, and build up one's ego, I never tear it down. I encourage people, and keep secrets. I never gossip or judge, and always try to help, if they want it. I don't force it.

LOL i am not the peacemaker in this house. My wife is, although don't get me wrong, she can hold a grudge like no one i've ever met. I think it's been twelve years since she's eaten at a Hardee's. But truly, she's the first to usually come around for everyone. She can see both sides of the argument, issue, problem, she's always willing to be a boost to someone's self confidence or self esteem with a compliment or a laugh. She's just a good people person, whereas i just stand back and watch most the time, and keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't get hurt. She can talk anyone into or out of any situation.

When I was teaching at college I think I had to be a peace maker then. Most of the students had just got out of highschool and could run pretty hot. I think the qualities I have that enable me to be a peacemaker is my ability to talk. I can sit the two people down and bring the conversation to a civilized level.
