buca has just cost us over 300.00 at the vet he had bumps on his peepee - they were round we thought they were ring worm. well- turns out he has an ear infection... here's how that works... he sticks his foot in his ear (where the ear infection is) to scratch it - then sticks his foot in his mouth (cause daddy taught him licking ear cheese is tasty) to lick it off - then licks his crotch and speads the infection. so now buca needs to be wiped with baby wipes after he pees. so my husband takes him to the vet and comes home to tell me the cost- i said why so much- he says i don't know.........well darren they gave you a receipt what does it say.....he read them off to me- they gave him all his shots on top of the visit- they are at least 40.00 per shot- no wonder it was so much, now i told darren to tell them to only give him the distemper right now, don't you think you would ask why they are giving him all these shots if you told them just distemper????? aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by the way- just so you know by sticking your foot in your ear (when you have an infection) -then licking your foot - then licking you crotch- this will cause a yeast infection, please make sure you don't try this at home!!!!!!! has this ever happened to your pet???

This makes sense. I am so sorry that Buca had to be so discomforted. But, I am so happy that mommy and daddy love him enough to take care of him, even though that was quite an expense. I hope he will be okay now. I will be sure never to stick my foot in my ear and so forth, :) No, this has never happened to a pet of mine. How did Buca get the ear infection? I know smoking in households cause ear infections on children. Do you smoke? Could it happen to a dog?

Aw I shall make sure that when I have an ear infection I shall refrain from sticking my foot in my ear and licking my crost lol! Sometimes taking your pets to the vets is a real rip off! My friend took her dog to the vets not long ago as her dog looked liked he was going blind. It cost her £165.00 or approx $330 for her too find out that yes he was going blind!! What a rip off they didn't actually do much other than look in his eyes and give her some drops which will just clear any gunk but not actually help his sight! Scandalous! Glad you've sorted your dog out now!

Yes he is getting back to his playful self instead of scratching all the time. We had a dog that was diabetic and he lost his sight, unfortunately the vet was a jerk and it may have been prevented or postponed with the right amount of insulin, we found out to late. Thats why you need to have the right vet, and normaly this one is pretty good, but my husband wasn't doing his job by telling them what I said. Oh well..it's only money!

Oh dear the poor dog lol. But Dogs do this I have noticed that my little Fellow does it to. Not very often but he has done it. He suffers from a skin infection and believe it or not the Vet still does not know what is causing it and they have still not managed to get rid of it.

Awww - poor Buca:-(( Sounds unpleasant, - and have to admit nothing like that has ever happened to any of my pets. I have had some pretty hefty Vet bills for my cats over the years though, and am only grateful for the Pet Insurance we have here. £60.00 a month (I think that's about $120 a month), may sound a lot for 5 cats, - but after my Wilby got into a fight recently, he got a bad abscess, and an infection, and it cost £200.00 (about $400 to fix him up again), so the Insurance is more than necessary. I hope your boy makes a speedy recovery!!!!!

I have never had this problem with our dog however we did have to take him to a vet once because when he was a pup we accidentally ran over him. It was late at night and he darted out in front of us, with him being a black chow it was hard to see him. But anyhow finding a vet in the middle of the night is a very hard thing to do. We had to drive for almost an hour to the vet. He has a broken hip but recovered really well.
