I did it a few years ago. It was fun, playing with wet cement and stuff. We got the roomie's neice & nephew & a friend from out of town & made them. Some of the stones were too thin and broke (darn it). Mine, on the other hand, you wouldn't WANT to step on! I had cup handles sticking out of it and other ankle breaking things to fall on! Since it was never stepped on, it never broke!!
How about you, ever made anthing like that?

no never made anything like that at all. I always wanted to make pottery but I never had the chance. Right now I just write but I do love writing it is my passion. I wish I was better with my hands though and could make pretty things.

I tried pottery, I remembered liking working with clay as a kid, but I guess I just lack the streanth to do it now. The stepping stones were, besides the lifting & mixing of the cement which I had help with, a lot easier. Once it was in the mold just decorating. If I do it again, I'll put more cement in the mold so we won't have the breakage.

Yes, we have made them as turtles that were meant to be walked on as well as sunken foot prints and dates into existing patio. It is a nice keepsake as the kids get older. My husband's parents have one dating back 30 years that have all 4 children's footprints embedded. It's pretty cool!
