Hi everyone
This is the first discussion I am starting, bare with me if it's wordy.
I am intending to quit smoking soon, within the next two weeks. I recently found out I am expecting my fourth baby. I plan to home birth & I feel I must take every step to ensure a healthy pregnancy, birth & baby; which of course includes quitting smoking.
Now I am a hypno-therapist myself. I have helped quite a few people quit over the years. But I find I do not respond well to self-hypnosis. I'm considering training my husband & letting him try hypnotizing me. Or contacting a local hypnotist and paying for their service.
I'm wondering what methods others have used and how much success they have had? I've heard mixed reviews about patches, more negative than positive.

I quit smoking when I was pregos with my son. Oh and congrats on your 4th!
I picked a date and started cutting back till I was down to only 1-3 a day. Then on the day that I quit it was a bit easier. My family dealt with some crankiness.
I couldn't do the patch - gave me the shakes.
I wish you the best of luck quitting. It is not easy.

I quite when I was pregnant, the morning sickness helped a lot with that lol. I also had habits when I was smoking, like if I was talking on the phone, I'd smoke. If I was driving I'd smoke. So if the phone rang, I'd grab a piece of paper and draw while talking. If I was driving, I'd suck on a lollypop or turn on the radio and sing. I've been smoke free for over 2 years now. Good luck!
