When most people think about or discuss breast cancer they think of women who get it. After all 200,000 women are effected by breast cancer every year. However did you know men get it as well? Every year a 1,000 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer. This is not just a woman's disease. Men just as much as women need to be aware of this possibility and how to watch out for the signs and symptoms. If you spot any of them you should check with a doctor. Some signs or symptoms of possible problems are: 1. lump or thickening in or near the breast or in the underarm area 2. A change in the size or shape of the breast 3. Nipple discharge or tenderness, or the nipple pulled back (inversion) into the breast 4. Ridges or pitting of the breast (the skin looks like the skin of an orange) 5. A change in the way the skin of the breast, areola, or nipple looks or feels (for example, warm, swollen, red, or scaly).

I'm sorry you had to go through that but I am happy to hear it was benign. I'm sure though until you got those results back you were afraid of the worst and very relieved once you knew you were ok. Hopefully all the others will be the same way.

That it does and yeah you hit that magic number and you have to get those done. I have a couple of years yet but I still do the other checks. Just in case.
