I never use to allow my kids to drink the sugar water, but lately I've caved in, and have been making it, I have a lot of kids in house during the week, and even though it's required for the parent to provide the childrens lunches and snacks, only half of them do. KoolAid is alot cheaper then keeping them supplied with juice. And even though my pocket book is happier, I still feel kinda bad.

I agree with you on the kool-aid issue. I have never been fond of it either. It is a lot cheaper than buying real juice, especially if you are a babysitter. I have found that if I only use a little bit of sugar, the kids don't act like they have a sugar rush. I know that they need real juice, but these days, who can afford to buy 4 or 5 bottles of it a week. Don't feel bad. If the parents want them to have real juice, have them supply it, or the kids can wait till they go home.

Even when I was a little kid, I prefered to drink cold water, without a bunch of stuff i it. Now if I want to modify my water, I'll heat it up and add coffee, but that's it.

I don't see a major issue with a cup of kool-aide a day as long as the kids are getting other things to drink (I am sure these kids are getting kool-aide at home). We do have kool-aide at home and based on the amount of sugar that other things - like juice - have in them, kool-aide is not the worst offender.
