If you do, how many times have you given blood?
What blood type are you?
Are you registered as a bone marrow donor?
If you don't, why not? (eg health reasons, fear of needles etc.)
I've given blood 26 times and have B+ blood.
I'm registered as a bone marrow donor but have never been called to give it.

There are many benefits donating blood socially as well as physically also. Donating blood may reduce the risk of heart disease for men and stimulate the generation of red blood cells. In patients prone to iron overload, blood donation prevents the accumulation of iron. The amount of toxic chemicals circulating in the blood stream is reduced by the amount contained in given blood. You could save someone's precious life! Blood is a medicine that can only be given from one person to another - no other source is currently available. Volunteer blood donors are needed on a daily basis to give blood for the thousands of patients who need it. So always help by donating blood.

I can't give blood or bone marrow because of health problems that I have. It used to make me really sad when I was younger, because I really love helping people, and couldn't do so in this way. However, I've learned to accept that I can't do this particular thing, and help people in other ways when I can. =)

I have donated blood quite a few times , not as many times as you did,. Today I am 48. I used to donate blood when I was in College and when I used to stay in City area. Since now I am based on Stud farm which is quite far away from City I hardly get any chance to donate my blood to any one who is in need of blood , as it is not posssible and feasible thing!
I have donated blood to few people who were known to me and to some people who wee not even known to me, for one reason I believe donating blood is one of the noblest thing which as a human being we can do very easily!
I am O+ve, i.e Universal Donor !
Now with the increased risk of blood transmitted disceases one has to be really careful in donatin the blood. The hygeinic aspects are to be taken into consideration and a standard, certified and well managed Blood bank has to be selected for donating the blood. In India because of irregularities in the blood collections many people have suffered in many ways, because of which Government has closed down many of private Blood Banks nad few Blood Banks which are strictly adhering to the hygene and following the rules are operational!
I am really happy to know that you areca registered bone marrow donor! What a wonderful heart and generosity you have ! Kudos and all the best for your future life, May God bless you!
