Do you know the writer behind Blade Runner?

You certainly know the great movie Blade Runner by Ridley Scott. But do you know the writer (and the novel) that inspired it?

I had read pkd books before I saw Blade runner but not 'do androids dream' strangely enough. Although it doesn't follow the novel, it is the best adaption of any of pkds stories.

'Do androids dream of electric sheep?' is one of the best novels I've ever read. Everytime I read it, I discover some new point of view and that's amazing. Pjd's best novels for sure. I like to think at the book and the movies as separate beings, as connecting them too much would let out too many valuable aspects of both of them.
