people who don't try for themselves

i can't stand when people don't try to figure something out for themselves before asking for help. i have no problem with asking for the help but i think you should at least make an effort by yourself. i've learned everything that i know about computers with trial and error. just searching the computer and trying for myself. my neighbour expects me to come over and do everything for him. he won't even sit at the chair and try for 2 seconds. he just says well i dont' know how. but the thing is i don't know how to do what he's asking for but i go over and figure it out. we both don't know and i have to figure it out and he won't even try to. this annoys me.
does anyone agree with me.

Same here. It gets on my last nerve. People will sit around and say woe is me and won't lift a finger to get themselves out of the situation they are in. They will sponge off of anyone and everyone around them. It is pure laziness if you ask me. I don't have a problem helping anyone but when I see that they could easily help themselves if they would at least try, is what bothers me. I have tried to teach other people what to do in any given situation but they will sit there like they are dumb just so I will do it all for them. I don't do it any more. I get tired of being used and I work hard for everything I do and get. It isn't easy for me either but I will try and figure it out or do it myself before I will ask anyone for anything. I bet I can count on one hand how many times I have asked for anything. I like to do it all on my own if I can. I am proud when I figure it all out myself.

i completely agree. i feel so good when i acomplish things myself. it's a self pride thing and i don't understand why other people don't want to try to feel this way. i can't stand when someone pretends to be stupid so i just do it myself for them. that really annoys me. and no matter how many times i show one person how to do something and they still ask me to do it with out trying grrrr. annoying.

This is the way of the world. There are people who can work by themselves and figure out problems and then there are others who can not. They are so afraid of messing things up that they can't even try.
I am known for my stuborn streak. I like to try and figure things out too however, there are actually times when you should ask for help. I know that I have personally lost information on my computer because I did not ask for help. When I took the harddrive to my friend he could not save what I had some how erased. I can understand both sides.
