The Sounds of a Typewriter

I recently installed a little program that made my computer sound like a typewriter.
I used to be greatly annoyed by the sound of typewriters. It reminded me of not affording a computer while most of my friends already had theirs. Of being the only one to submit a typewritten essay (as opposed to it being printed out by bubble-jet or laser, such fancy sounding terms for me before). Of offices cluttered with endless piles of yellow folders. Of hands soiled with ink.
Although I do not wish to relinquish my laptop for a typewriter, I have come to miss the sound it makes. And so I found this program and a cure for my writer's block.
I have been stuck for 3 months, no short stories written, no essays, no nothing. It is now March, the deadline for everything is near. But I am saved by the new sounds of my keyboard, urging me to write more, to write often, to keep the clacks and clicks coming, faster and faster.
Have you any recollections of typewriters?

I have LOTS of recollections of typewriters! Mostly when I was a kid... my mom had one and if I begged her she would let me use it, and I would type and type and type... just because I liked the sound of the keys. I sort of like the sound of the keys of a computer, but there was nothing quite like the typewriter! It also took a lot more skill to use than a computer... you had to know when to push "return" and everything else. When I first started learning how to use a computer at school I was about 14, and I always wanted to push "return" when I thought I was running out of room on the page. It took me a long time to figure out that I didn't have to push "enter" unless I was starting a new paragraph or something! :)
