Do you believe that "everything happens for a reason"?

Whether sprirtual or not, many people I know believe that everything happens for a reason; it's all part of some big, master plan. I just can't bring myself to accept this-perhaps it is true that some things do indeed happen for a reason, but I can't believe that God or any higher power allows children to be abused or people to die in horrible accidents ot hand the hand of others. I see no "reason" for animals to be tortured or for people to suffer from famine or disease. Although I do believe that we can always learn something from every experience and what we take away from the tragedies that happen to us all shape us as human beings. But does everything hapen for a reason? What do you think?

Yes I believe everything happens for a reason, it is all part of a big test we all go through called life. I think that even if someone did try to change something in their past they either could not do this or it would change something in there future

Everything happens for a reason... as we all make our own faith... and the reason is getting you closer and closer to the path that you choose in Life... in everything there is a lesson... you just have to do your best and learn from it... and get yourself closer to your ideals in life... closer to the person that you want to become... closer to you... to your friends... and to your life...

yes everything happens for a reason.mayb u wont realise it in an instant...just when it happens,but with the passing of time u kno that it happens for a reason!

I tend to believe so even though I have no logical explanation or can't see a reason for a lot of things happening here on earth ..

No, I believe things happen. The way we react to them is what defines us. If we want a meaningful life we must put meanng into it.
