When a reply is received from a member, e-mail notification received by me shows 'CST time'. Could some one please tell me what is CST Time? What is the time difference between CST time and 'GMT time'?

CST is Central Standard time, which is actually used in some US states and in Canada. It is GMT -6 hours. GMT, on the other hand, Greenwich Meridian Time which is like the base time zone. It is the same as UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). hope that helps!

Meleshia, Thanks for making me understand the difference between CST and GMT. YOu say it is minus 6 hours from GMT and I stay in India we are (+)5 hours from GMT, it means we are nearly 11 hours ahead of your CST time.

good that you're now more familiar with the time zones. I'm not actually from the US (im from the philippines) and my time zone is GMT +8 hours. =) But i'm familiar with the CST time zone since we're working with people from Chicago who uses CST ^___^

cst is Central Standard Time in America. It is -6 hours Grenwich Mean Time. I live in PST which is Pacific Standard time -8 GMT. So you are corresponding with someone in the central United States.

CST is Central Standard Time. It is a time for certain states. It sometimes comes up as -0600 in emails. GMT is Greenwich Mean Time. It is a world time for everyone. Meaning that everyone is on the same time. I know I always get confused. I am EST so I am always -0500 when I set the time for a new site. I hope this helps.

Connie, Thanks so much for making me understand the issue. Since I live in India, I did not have any idea about CST.

I didn't either. I actually did a search for it. I was amazed at how many states in the USA and other countries use CST time. I think the GMT time is the best.
