It depends on the gnome. some of them are so darned cute. I would have them under bushes or peeking out of some floweres. Did you hear about the one that was stollen. the kids sent it around the world and sent pictures back to the owner of where it had been. Finally one day it just showed up on her door step.

that is so funny, kind of like the comercial for a travel company that has the gnome for the adversizing. some people have a lot of time on their hands to send a gnome out into the world. so cute though. wish someone would send me on trips.

I think it was some college students. I often wonder if the commerical idea came from this incident. It was in the news at the time

I probably would not put a gnome in my garden. They are okay, I just don't want one! I don't really get much into lawn ornaments. I do have a gazing ball...it is very small...deep blue in a copper coil. I do have a couple of bird feeders and a bird bath!

I don't have any yet. Like you I think they are cute. I have a pig lying on its back in garden. I never knew what the big hoopla was about the gnomes. I may put one in my garden too.

When we moved into our current home, it came complete with a troop of garden gnomes. We've had a great time repainting them (they were really faded) and placing them in different spots around our yard. The kids and I especially like moving them about while hubby is at work. He gets freaked out when he gets out of his car and sees gnomes where there were none before. Yes, we are evil ;)

I have one really cute one, and I positioned him so that when you are on the ground floor, he is looking in the kitchen window. I like him. I also have a squirrel, a rabbit, a couple of frogs and some other assorted garden creatures.

I think they are kinds cute...if you have one or two. We have never had any though, and I don't know if I would buy any =) I guess I have seen too many scary movies where they come to life and I don't want them coming to life in my front yard!!! =) Silly me I know!!!

I am sorry to say I do not have a garden gnome. I think for the most part these gnomes are ugly. I did buy my cousin one last year for a joke since she doesn't have a garden nor does she have any grass any where at her home.
