I have been growing medicinal herbs for many years now. I'm into planting trees, too. I feel it will do a lot of good if I give a hand at tree farming. So I have been trying to plant fruit trees and wood trees also, thinking that this can somehow help in the easing of the greenhouse effect the world is experiencing. Years ago, I used to be among those persons who would like to see snowfalls, but now I don't think I still have the penchant for snow as it used to be. Hearing how snowfall can be harsh and thick, I've grown out of it already. I hope that you will come out of this situation alright. A ginger drink will help you keep warm for the cold, cold days. Take a cup or two each day. A tablespoon of juices collected from oregano leaves by pressing, is a good cure for coughs, colds and headaches, too. This may be taken 3 or more times a day. In the Philippines, we are using much variety of herbs to keep us going and cope with sorts of illnesses. I am sorry that I cannot tell which of them do you have in your country, the bigger problem is, I do not know how you call these herbs in your country.

The Philippines enjoys climatic conditions which make it suitable to grow all sorts of greens/plants all year round.

Do you grow year around? I think that a wonderful thing you are doing planting trees. If I had more room I'd do it also. Thanks for posting

I'm always growing something edible at all times of the year. I have an extra spare room that is not in use by anything else so I got some cheap litter boxes, drilled holes in the bottom and planted some parsley, sage, thyme and a whole bunch of other herbs. Plus I have a few tomato plants (I call them trees, since I have had them for a couple years now and they have gotten quite big), and I got some onions growing. So I am gardening pretty much all year long.

Yeah you can pretty much keep a lot of things for a long duration with the proper care and such. Most of the herbs I keep by the window since I don't have any curtains on that window and they are doing great right there. For the bigger things and things I couldn't fit by the window I do use grow lights so they get the right amount of light.
