Does your cat have a way of communicating with you?

our cat will butt her head up against mine, as a sort of greeting. she also will slink around and caress our legs, purring - sort of how you described yours going around the table legs. She answers to her name with a half purr half meow sound, and when we ask the dogs if they wanna go for a walk she races them to the door.
