Anything GREATER than love?

March 11, 2007 9:40pm CST
There's a lot of different types of love. For me this is one of the best things about life, I didn't think I'd get to where I am right now. Married (loving husband), Proud father. So many reasons why I personally think there isn't many things greater than love, because who have fault true love know how wonderful it and how it doesn't matter when all you've got is love. In your opinion is their anything GREATER than love? Thanks, ~Joey

i dont think that there is anything greater than love, because if i will remove love from my life then , nothing will left.

I honestly don't think there is. We can achieve a great deal in life but if we have no one to share it with, it is not the same. I have been with my partner for 18 years now and although it has been rough as well as good, we have stuck together because there is a bond that cannot be broken. I do feel sorry for those who do not experience this. I know a woman who has never had a true relationship with a man and relies so heavily on her friends, but at the end of the day she always goes home to an empty flat. To be loved is to feel protected and it is something I would hate to be without. Thanks for a great discussion it has made me feel quite priviledged. I hope you and your wife have this love forever too. You can't beat it and it is what we all want deep down!!!

Sharing our life's with people is very special. I didn't used to allow people to get close to me, either because I thought I'd get hurt or because I was just afraid. (younger teen years) Love is the best feeling for me too. My son brings a huge amount and my wife makes me so crazy when it comes to valentines day as I'm a true romantic. I agree with you as well. A friend of mine hasn't had a girl friend, others take the micky and he's a year older than me although he has the rest of his life to live and He allows what others say get in the way. (kinda acts like I used to) Thank you ItTakesAllSorts! ~Joey P.s I wish the same for you my friend. I'd be lost without my wife and your right, we've been through quite a bit and it's just pushed us closer. Cheers!

I have not truly experienced love as of yet, though I have dated in the past but things never worked out. I am glad that you are very happy and are happily married and have children. I wish all of you the best. Maybe once I am in love and get married I will be able to say the same thing about love. For me right now, I would just like to be in good health and would be happy with that for now.

NO, there is nothing greater than love. BUt looking at Mazlow's hierarchy of needs... there are times whne things are more IMPORTANT than love. If you don't have food and shelter, finding those things takes precedence over love. But I don't think there is anything BETTER than love. It's indescribable and fills up all the empty holes.

no there isn't. and not just everlasting love between two people...but love of entire family, neighbors, friends, foes, alike.

Hey Again Buddy; Again I strongly agree with you. Caring for others is a sign of love, I remember someone saying It doesn't although I love people In sense I wouldn't want to be away from them or know how they are doing. (who aren't family) Close friends etc. Kudos! ~Joey

No, it's independence for me. I don't believe in true love, love doesn't happen for me, it doesn't exist. Sure I love my parents and friends, but it's a different love. I have never truly loved and don't expect to find it. Independence is far more important and it's the golden egg for me. Being a free spirit, no one to rely on, no one to think about, no one to consider, call me selfish but I prefer to be alone in life and I fully realize that there is no one out there for me I've accepted it and that's what life has dealt me, so it won't change. Good for you tho' Respect...

i have never believed there is anything greater than love...i have been with William since May 2005 and we are happy, have never had an arguement since we have been together..hmmm good thing or not, some people say its 'unhealthy' but i think its cool. anyhoo, personally now i have true love...i would never put anything over it...it is THE most important part of my life, and i always put my partner before myself

Love is the only thing which is a thread among the human and as well as the animals. Love is in different forms. The love you show towards a animal is different from one show on a plant or a human. According to person the quantity changes. But you cannot masure the quantity. In fact, all religions speak of LOVE. But see today, we are fighting. The word love is only a lip service. We don't really mean it in our acts. Let us try to change the present and try to love all.
