You know, Janie, in some ways I think the Aussies kind of have a point there somewhat. We Americans have had to be so 'politically correct' that we've lost the ability to make fun of ourselves, and joke around with others. For instance, my Mother was part Polish, she and I used to swap Polish jokes all the time, and we found all of them funny, and were never offended. The jokes were not necessarily true, or even correct, BUT, criminy, they were only jokes! I've never been offended by Polish jokes, jokes about women, redneck jokes, or jokes about blondes...and I'm all of those (well, now I'm a red head, but only my hairdresser knows for sure...) I think that everyone has become over-sensitive over, well, everything. I'm not saying go and hurt somebody's feelings on purpose, or say mean, hurtful things, I'm just saying people should lighten up some and laugh at life, ourselves, and all the crazy foiables that go along with it. Just my humble opinion, and yes, I am politically 'correct' because you have to be now-a-days.

I agree, JoyfulOne, people should lighten up. You can't walk down the street without offending someone these days and it's gotten to the point there BEING politically correct has become a the latest joke. Maybe it's the people without a sense of humor that started to whole OC movement to begin with....hm.

I agree entirely. In England at the moment we are being criticised because we do not like not being able to see a womans face because of the mask the Muslims wear. Our culture is that if our face is fully covered you are up to something criminal, why do we have to change within our own country. If I went to a Muslim country they wouldn't change their rules for me.

I am all for LESS political correctness. I think PC is Orwellian, like thought control.
