I'm struggling up here in Idaho hooking the bass this year. Water temps are in the high 40's, which I know is cold, but do you have any ideas what I lures I should be using, what structure, and what depth?? Please help. Thanks!!

You know I might be crazy, but i heard about this lure that is amazing. People tell me that it will catch anything that swims. I also heard that it works for bass, even when the water is so cold that you feel like your fishing off the side of a crab boat in Alaska. This lure is called the, Yama Senko. Please try it out and let me know how it works for you. :)

I went fishing last weekend in my pond. Fished all day & only caught one bass. I think the water is still to cold for them here (in Kentucky) but I just cant wait for it to warm up so I can get back to fishing! I dont really know what lures or depeth would be good for fishin in Idaho. I've never been fishing there. But try this website:

There may be some info there that would help you.
I dont know how true this is, but Im going to try it and find out this summer, but my mom has one of those "wacky uses for common products" books. The other day when i was at her house, i was flippin through it & it said to spray WD 40 on your fishing bait cause it would cover up the human scent & you would get more fish. Of course, Im sure that wouldnt be to good for the water if everyone started doing it but i just gotta try it to see if it works. Have you ever heard of that? Good luck fishing, If you catch anything good be sure to post a pic of it!

While the water temp is still a little low and the fish are still a bit lethargic in that they wont really chase a bait I like to use alot of soft plastics. Worms and lizards. Also one of my favorites is a suspending minnow. You can get it into the strik zone and work it very vey slowly. Also don't forget jigs. I have found these three baits best during low activity levels.
