Repeated Questions

i observed that questions are repeated here by users, deliberately or not. i think there should be a category for posting questions, and myLot should properly classify posts (i thought that's why the tags), so when new members like me would post a discussion, we'd know that said issue had been posted and it won't be repeated. it's kind of a waste when no one's responding coz the topic had been discussed.

I noticed this too and I especially dislike when someone posts the same question as you right after they answer your post. The only thing they do is reword it! ARG!!! Obviously you can tell that this has just happen to me!

i know, but well, we can always give them the benefit of clear doubt, er, benefit of the doubt. but when it's obvious that it was a deliberate copying/stealing of someone else's post, it's really irritating.

LOL! i went to the discussion page and i've seen the my-name-starts-with-(the letter)! i've started that post awhile back and someone answered it today so it resurrected and got replies. now others are copying the idea, hehe.

I think mylot grows so fast with new members join by hundreds everyday. I'm new here too. I take my sweet time to learn the system and to read more than I post or start a discussion. I use search box extensively to make sure I don't start something that was mentioned already. But it's hard to do that, because it will slow you down a lot. And most people come here to make money first, express courtesy second. Well, that's life.

i know, and i've done it too (post the same questions that has been discussed thoroughly). even using the search button does not work exactly since the tags used could be different (or maybe myLot has to improve on this yet). but you know what, even repeated Qs gain answers since they are new to new members, LOL. so i guess, it still works :P anyway, in the new guidelines of myLot, it is clearly written that should they see any obviously copied post, the member would be notified/warned, and the post shall be removed immediately. good one :)

that would help but i have observed that some mylot members are actually just copying already popsted discussion and just paste it looking like he/she started it but actually he/she just copy paste it. some sort of cheating i say and have come across a few of them. greetings. : )

Agreed. The only way to do it at the moment is to search for it, and not everybody does that (obviously).

for new members, it's excusable. but some posts are obviously "stolen". like courtlynne said, they just rephrased them.
