Have Your Kids Gone To Outdoor School? Did You Go To Visit Them?

Both of my girls have gone now. They go and spend a week in outdoors learning about nature and the history of the land. My oldest went 2 years ago. We went to visit her in the evening and stayed for the campfire. While we were there for her they were learning survival and rescue skills. Then it was campfire time. I recomend parents wear protective gear if staying for campfire. A 150 or so 6th graders dancing around and singing can potentially cause bodily harm lololol but it was fun. Yesterday we went up to visit my youngest daughter. We went up during the day. We figured we had already done the evening visit, so we'd go up during the day so we could actually see what they did during the day. We got there right at lunch time, so we had lunch with her. Then we went to one of her classes with her. Then we went on a hike with her up to a cave and a look out. We had a lot of fun both times we went. Have your kids got to do this? If not and they get a chance to I highly recomend you let them go and go and visit them. Everyone will have a lot of fun!

Wow - that sounds great!!! We have something a bit similar except the kids stay in a big old house and don't do much nature or history - it's more about team building and social skills! Outdoor school sounds awesome - espescially the fact that you can visit!!!

They do that there too. They divide the kids into small groups (teams) and they do everything together all week, and the compete with the other groups it teaches them how to work together
