Not many people like their jobs, but did you or do you have a favorite? When I was in High School, I worked at Stone Mountain Park, and I have to say, of all my jobs that was my favorite. I met a lot of people, and I actually had a lot of different jobs there. I mainly worked during the summer (the winter months are slow there). I started working at the skylift snackbar, we were called "snackbar girls" by the "skylift guys". That job is also where I met my husband, and all these years later, we are once again close friends with another "skylift guy". We have so much fun recalling memories of those days and the others we worked with. What was your favorite?

I would really like to work outside in a park, like in a rosegarden in Gothenburg where thousands of roses from all over the world grow. However I have had three good job during my life.: Painting fronts of houses in an arkitekt office. That is: on paper, just the way it was to be erected, right colour of tiles, right colours of the wood and stones, small on paper sheets. Then I was employed thirty years later as an artist in a county Museum. I found my way to my sculptural work there, because I was to make exhibition dolls there with steel thread and paper and many other things, drawings. Now again I am doing the same things at a Ropemaking Museum nearby. I am so thankful for that.I enjoy the people there. We chat all the day and laugh and drink more coffee all the time. At home I make sculpture with fibre concrete. See www.Newartforgardens.com Greetings from Lailamaria in Sweden

Oh I had this great Job back in 1965 working for a Tennis Shoe Manufacturer. It was in Anaheim Calif near Disneyland and it was nights about 4 hrs a night and back then when Min. wage was like $1.65/hr I made $6.00 and hr. for about 18-20 hrs a week for standing with this strips of Rubber tags that said "Randy" on them ( It was Randolph Rubber Company that made Randy Tennies) and when the shoe came around on the conveyor foot I had to put on label on the heel of each tennis shoe. That was it. That was great money and short hours. We got all kinds of tennis shoes for free from the ones that didn't pass Quality Control inspection. It was great. It kept me in Tennies for years! Fun job !

I was a house cleaner as a kid. That was fun since they trusted me in their home. Would start dinner for them and make a dessert when they wanted one. It was a grand old house with back stairway that was narrow and so much have been a servants stair. I remember it to this day and since I am a cleaner now except at a factory that it seems fitting at this time in my life.

I think many of my friends here on mylot get the idea that my favortie job was working with the traveling carnival & circus. Granted they were long & hard hours and not real good pay. But the traveling, meeting new friends and getting to be near so many wild animals was an exeprience I'll never enjoy the same way ever again. Thanks for a great discussion. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!
