AMD is good if you want a low cost yet dependable processor. The AMD Athlon64 can be found for about $50. But if you're looking to lay $200 or more on a processor, there's no contest. Intel is currently mopping the floor with AMD on the high end processors.

I have given the answer for this in your other post, hope you have read it. It is no use blindly supporting AMD, even I hate Intel, but when it comes to utility, now we have no other option, atleast for the next few years, intel has already started to work on its 45nm technology and will soon start 30nm also. AMD is still struggling with 65nm. I don't see anything special about AMD in the near future.

well said. i believe AMD relaxed too much when they beat intel with their athlon 64 line. now they're back to the bottom again, hope intel doesn't make the same mistake. but with what im seing from intel, they're doing a good job advancing technology further.

AMD may have price and quality but performance is owned by intel. so i think intel is the winner over the price/performance ratio because athere are very few (FX line of processors) AMD processors that can outperform an intel E6600 which is about $350.
