I was looking into ING.com and got to wondering, are online banks safe? Does anyone use an online bank? I am not talking about online banking where you can go to the bank building if you wanted to but chose to do your banking online, I am talking about online banks where there are no buildings or tellers or anything. Everything is done online. I was just wondering if anyone uses an online only bank and if so, what are the pros and cons of it. I just think that being able to go to the bank building and speak to someone if I have a problem or need to cash a check is easier. But there must be people who use these online only banks. I was just wondering what others thought of them.

Online savings accounts usually have a higher rate of interest than traditional banks because they have less overhead. I've opened several money market accounts and CDs over the years and have really had no problems at all. They're convenient and I earn more money from them than I could from any local banks.

by reading your post, it just means that there are lots of online banking which we can trust. just that ordinary people like me aren't much aware of it or how such banks work for us.

Yes most online banking is safe, just make sure that they have a non hacker design on whichever one you use ok. Plus contact them as the majority of them will contact you back with any questions that you may have in regards to online baaking

i am not sure. but is e-gold considered an online bank? if so, it's the only online bank i am into and i say, i am satisfied with the services i get from e-gold. it's actually scary to save money in online banks. you won't know what exactly will happen.too much risk at stake.

Iu se online banking and love it. I pay bills and get to check my account whenever i want. You could still go to a bank if you had a problem or to cash a check.Suggestion though,If you are seriously thinking aobut online banking,I would make sure it was a highly reputable bank.I heard a segment abuot that on the news .they said that online banking is increasing but that a potential customer should make sure it's a reputable bank.Hoep this helps.

it's really had to trust something thats online. if they had a real bank then that would be a different story. i don't like know that my money is on the net and at any time it all could disappear. the other things is know what ones are good and ones that are bad.
