Do you like to eat food that smells like herring or sardines? Some cheeses? If it stinks, I will not even taste it.

The foods that you mentioned are just of minor smell/odor, wait till you experienced a tropical fruit from southeast asia, called 'Durian'. I don't think you can tolerate it's very strong odor, you can actually throw up when you smell it from afar. But it has a very delicious taste, and is also very good for our health. I've tasted it and I actually liked it, it's very pleasurable. Most of the people who tasted and liked it said, "It smells like hell, but with a heavenly taste!" =)

I think I've seen that fruit on tv. Is that the one that some hotels have banned? How did you get past the smell to taste it? I don't think I could but would love to know what it smells like just out of curiosity...lol Isn't it funny how something could smell so horrid yet taste so good...go figure.

LoL Mari, I think it's also banned on commercial planes!;) The first thing to do is ignore the smell and think of the taste, because the taste is what goes right down our stomach. I tried tasting the candy they produce from it, and has no foul odor in it. And out of curiousity, as I love to taste foods, I tried to taste it coming right from the fruit and it's more delicious than the those candies!;)

I can't eat any kind of cheese or food that smells bad. I guess I think that if it smells bad it tastes bad. I know this probably sn't true but I just can't force myself to eat things like that. My girlfriend loves gorganzola cheese on her salads. I wanted to know how strong it smelled and made the mistake of putting me nose right into the containe for a big whiff. I thought I was going to throw up!LOL! The only food that I eat that's smelly is probably an onion. Guess I have to get more adventerous.LOL!

I'm like you margieanne, if it smells I won't know how it tastes because I won't be able to taste it! When there is a strong odor to a food I almost puke just smelling it. My father loves sardines and will eat them right out of the can. I have to leave the room as I can't stand the smell!

You are like me. I won't even let my husband eat sardines in the house, because I really throw up from the smell.

No, I don't eat smelly foods. I find it hard getting it passed my nose. If the smell is too bad, I won't even stay in the house while it is cooking! Does stinky foods give you stinky breath?! It is pretty bad when our dogs won't even go anywhere near the plate for a tasty morsel if it smells too bad. I'm not into stinky foods but my hubby likes them.

I don't mind smelly food. I actually love herring and sardines. I will usually try any cheese as well. There are only a few food smells I can't stand, but they are foods I have tried before and that I cannot stand.

I do not eat those fish. However, I will eat things as long as they smell the way that they should. Some things are more odiferous that others and again if it smells appropriately then it is good to eat. We are all different and with our individual tastes there is room for us all.

If it smells funny, its not going in this mouth. Not only that if it looks funny it is not going their either. I can't eat anything smoked because of the smell. A little funny story. When I was a young girl my Mom was cooking cow tounge for supper. I know yuck. I must have been bugging her because finally she looked at me and said you know what the cow licks his a$$ with. I never ate it that night or ever again.

No smelling food for me. I can't stand bad smell for food, may be the smell is original or come from some inapropriate way of making or keeping the food. For me smell is important after the taste. So, it should be good.

No I can't eat food that smells gross to me. I don't mind sardines but haven't eaten them for over 25 years. I don't like smelly cheeses...or fishy smelling seafood at restaurants. I can't even stand to be in the same house when someone is cooking lamb...Oh it smells so horrible to me. I have never eaten it and probably never will. I don't like the smell of liver cooking but I like liver, so I guess it depends on how bad the smell is. Lamb cooking has made me vomit..so case closed on that...lol

I am not crazy about cheeses. But I do like herring and sardines. As you would say...Yummy. Put a little barbeque sauce on them and they are great. Good source of fish oil. Some foods I can eat if it smells, others I can't get near whithout choking...lol.

If it smells bad, I can't get it to my face without gagging. I have had Durian but it was in a wafer cookie from the Vietnemese Market. If I held my nose and ate it, it wasn't so bad.

I'm a vegetarian and I can't stand the smell of meat. But I do like the smell of fish. Some time ago I was in a shop and in a backroom they were frying eggs for lunch. The smell was so bad I ran out of the shop. I don't think that food smells unless it is rotting. It just depends on how your body reacts to certain kinds of food and how they are prepared.

I don't mind herrings or sardines. Or even cheese. If the food item is supposed to contain these things, of course it would smell like them. Otherwise, something would be quite wrong.
