Should twins be dressed the same and til what age?

Twins, we can probably all agree look absolutely adorable dressed the same and it makes veryone start to coo over them but as they get older do you think that it is wrong? I personally think that as soon as they are able to choose their own outfit sensibly then they shouldn't dress the same but I am not a twin. Maybe they like the feeling of belonging and being part of the twin. What's your views on it and do you know any twins first hand or are you one yourself?

I do not think twins should be dressed alike. I do know many sets of twins and since they each have their own personality, I think it is important to distinguish them as individuals from the start. I do think they look cute dressed alike and maybe once in awhile when they are little, but not all the time. This of course, is just an opinion !!

I have replaced someones job whi is on maternity leave with twins. She came in with them the other day. They are supposed to be identical but they look different. She had tehm dressed the same. Its hard to know but I think if I had twins I would dress them different from birth so they have their own identity. I think I would have seoerate clothes for them each. It also makes it easier for people to tell them apart if they ae identical.

Ye, althouhg they had different socks on. I think they looked quite a bit different from each other tho. The ma isnt convinced they are identicaleven tho the hospital said they are. Do identical twins usually look identical from birth?

honestly I dont think any one should dress twins identicle at all. You have to be able to tell them appart. Plus from day onethey are two diffrent people why make them look the same just because it is cute

I saw grown up twins dress alike many time, sometimes they like that or find it funny to confuse people, etc. But I think maybe it's just because they were raised this way and was used to it, I think twins should be encouraged to be little different and develop their own separate personalities and tastes, but at the end if the similarities are great between them they will end up choosing nearly the same things and exchanging cloths , etc. it just needs to be their choice not the way they have been brought up.

As a twin I would say however cute anyone else might think it looks there is never a time when you should dress them alike. It is so hard to be treated as an individual when you are a twin. If you are dressed alike as I was people find it even harder to seeyour personality as they look at you as one set of two people instead of two individuals.

No I don't think it's a good thing, yes they look cute that way but they should be allowed to form their own separate personalities and likings by encouraging them to be different and independent than from each other.

Two of my ex boyfriends have been twins, and I was also in the same class as two sets of identical twins at school. I don't think it's a good idea to dress them identically. Maybe when they are cute toddlers, but I know that most twins I have ever known do have problems with their identity, especially as they grow older, and they want to be independant, and treated as individuals, so I don't like the idea at all.

"Two of my exboyfriends have been twins" Question is though, were they twins with each other, like the one set of twins and you went ou t with both of them?

LOL - I have aunts that are twins and they don't dress alike now but when they were in high school they still did and it was their choice - oh opps they did it to fool teachers...True story, they were double dating with two guys from school and "pulled a switch" on the young men. They ended up marrying the ones they went out with - they did tell each the truth before the weddings but it was funny and a great family joke.

I think its cute to dress them the same, but I'd rather not, maybe every once in a while or for a picture, but I think that once their different personalities are kind of established which is pretty early on, you should chose clothes for them based on that.
