i have some questions about rating, best reponse, etc

i am still pretty new to all this and i was hoping someone could expalin some things to me. how do i pick a best reponse? am i the one that picks it for the discussion i started? how do you get rated? i have rated people but how do i know when i get rated? is it just one person rates a person or does everyone have the chance to rate? i love trying to help others and thought this would be a great way to do it. i know i answered someone and they told me thank you for it and it made me feel good just to know that maybe something i said helped them. so many people in the world just rush through life and never stop to hear anothers story or lend a hand. it is sad really cause no matter who you are you have lived , experianced, and learned. we can all learn from anyone.

I see that you have already gotten your answers that you have asked for so I won't repeat them. You are right though, we can all learn from others, no matter who they are. I think that the best thing we can do with life is to try to help others as much as we can along the way.

thank you. i figure even the poorest person can help out another just by listening and caring. it is one thing in life that doesnt cost you anything but time and heart. there isnt many things in life that are free.
