rhematoid arthritis is an autoimmune illness in which our own autoimmune system attacks our body tissues causing inflammation and stiffness of joints and bones. It affects people especially mid ages around 30-above;but can also happen to younger children as early as 5 (jra-juvenile rheumatoid arthritis).Causes are not yet known but there are treatments available for patients;drugs, injections or alternative med..these treatments cannot totally reverse the disease but rather help reduce pain and maximize the joints' function.
people having such illness experience morning stiffness and limited joint movements..it's hard for patients to live normally because they cant do simple things such as opening a doorknob, standing for a long time, running, lifting heavy objects or any other physical activities..They worry that it would only worsen the pain..imagine almost of your days are just days of joint pains, rheumatic fever, weakness and lots of medicine..sigh...lowers self-essteem..ur confidence..Little by little it cripples you..But i guess regular medication, rest and a little exercise would do good for those patients..and of course a boost of moral support and understanding from families and loved ones will surely help!!
