My hair is all the way down to my waist and it could be longer except I have split ends galore! What can I do? I use a long and strong formula, I don't blow dry my hair...ever, I don't brush or comb it while it's wet or damp and I don't apply heat to it. Plus, split ends makes my hair look really raggy on the tips and it looks so unhealthy. I drink plenty of water, but I know my diet can be better.

well my friend, it seems as if you are really very sad about your present hair condition. You already know many things , by doing which can make your hair condition more worse. its good and if you know that you can change your eating habbits then its very nice, why dont you start it from today onwards.
Well, i m not here to bore you. i use certain treatments in curing split - ends and they are all very easy and can be done at home. but you have to be patient for the results. i m writing you down these, you can try them one by one according to your ease and see yourself what changes happen.Basically ends are caused when your hair is damaged either by harsh shampoos , too much direct sun or a hair dryer, perming or bleaching or very often simply because the tips of the hairs are too old. the first thing or the first step is to have them trimmed off, or they may further split up the hair, making it too lifeless and dull.So you can try these treatments friend.
Mix 1 tsp honey with 2 tbsp of olive oil , then beat 1 egg yolk. Massage on your hairs in small sections. Wrap head with shower cap for 30 min. Rinse and shampoo.
Massage hair and scalp with warm avocado or olive oil. now wrap hair securely in a towel . leave oil on hair about 8 hairs or overnight. if you are putting it in the night, wear a shower cap or wrap something to avoid staining. in the morning wash your hairs and then rinse with a vinegar and water solution. i have not written the exact proportion of vinegar and water solution because i do it on my ease and after seeing the condition of the hair. so u can take a little in a mug of water and apply in the end.
there is a hot oil treatment too. i m writing it down for you . if you feel it easy you can do this also. people go out and spend so much on repairing their hairs but find the same thing difficult to do themselves. if you do it yourself, you will do it more carefully and in a much better way.try to try this too.
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup boiling water
Place the 2 in a large glass bottle or a jar whatever u r havingbut with a lid. u may need to wrap a towel around the bottle to avoid burning youself. shake very well until oil is emulsified. massage into ur hairs taking care not to burn ur head. put a shower cap or a plastic bag if cap is not available and then wrap ur head in a hot towel that has been soaked in hot water , then wrung out. leave the mixture on ur hair for 1/2 hour , then shampoo as usual. i use homemade shampoo only.
i m also having waist lenght hairs and i love my hairs a lot. i keep on telling people that home remedies are the best, u just have to take out time to do it. the only thing needed is patience.
dont get bored by my lecture but try to give a try atleast some time. you will see the result. God bless you with more n more long and healthy , split end free hairs.take care of your hairs, long hairs are a beauty of women.

I think the best thing you can do is cut it. Just an inch or two. I doubt anyone would even notice.

VO5 makes a very good hot oil treatment. You might try having someone cut off an inch. I don't suggest more because it is obvious you want to keep it long. Then, every 6 weeks, get it trimmed a half an inch. This will prevent split ends and keep your hair looking fresh and beautiful.

Hi Kaeli, i had long hair a long time ago. But i didn't have much of a split ends problem. I'm sure diet is the most important thing for healthy hair. I take soy protein and supplements. Not forgetting well balanced meals as well.
I also do it yourself treatments at home with hot oil- try vidal sassoon, steam my hair with conditioner applied to it also helps. All the best! - Lyn
