Do you hate someone if she tells something about you?

I hate to be backbite especially someone will thing bad about you. But why does people talk about bad things about you. Can't they tell in front of your face if they don't like somthing about you? Many people talk bad things about especially if they don't like you. We are not perfect,because we are living w/ people we then accept what is the reality. I even comment to people especially what i hate about them.
