I was watching the Miss America Pageant.. nothing else was on, and one of the questions was.."Does everyone deserve a second chance" Miss Kansas replied "no" she gave her reasons why not and you could see the look of shock on some of the judges faces when she said no. I admired her answer and thought she was right on the money. What do you think? Does everyone deserve a second chance?

i think everybody should be given a second chance but i don't think that everyone deserves it. in life, there may not be a lot of second chances. so when we are given a second chance to improve, to right a wrong, to do what is right... we should do our best to be deserving of that second chance. never take it for granted. always be appreciative.

thanks for your response. And I totally agree. If you are awarded a second chance, make the best of it.

Well it all depends really on what they did to merit a second chance. If someone lops off someones head I would have to say no. So no not everyone deserves a second chance.

that is almost exactly what she said as well. I also believe it really depends on the action, whether or not someone deserves a second chance !! Great answer.

I guess it would depend on the situation. And who it was...If it were a friend and she slept with my man, then no, she wouldn't get a second chance. Now, if it were my sister and she did, she'd get a second chance ( I know because this has happened to me). I admire her for saying no also, because you know she knew that they wouldn't like it. Kudos to her!!

I agree that it all depends on who & what. I was not surprised when the one who said she admired Will Smith won. She also happened to be an Oprah Intern... go figure.

I have no idea or I am totally ignorant of Ms. America Pageant. But when it comes to 'take chances' I would say all of us ( or many of us) are taking our chances, second or third or fourth... without considering as to whether we deserve it or not. I too had felt on many occasions that, in my second thoughts, I could have done it more better. Even if I think that I deserve another chance it normally doesn't comes to me. What matters is how you (ab)use(d) your chance. It is important that it should not be like a glass fallen down by mishandling.

Well anybody deserve second chances, in fact the always have second chances. If we don't have second chance, tell me why do we still alive. Don't get mixed 'second chance' with 'turn back time'. We can never turn back time. So if the case is about fail loving someone, then you still have so many chance to learn and applied the right thing to someone else, or in some cases you can fix with your ex. If the case is about can't being a good child for your parents, the second chance may come as a chance to be a good child from your parents in law, or someone older. The second chance only come for people who willing to learn.

I was referring to a lot of things in general. I don't think horrible people that do evil things deserve second chances.

Everyone, including yourself, have made mistakes and so deserve another chance. Life is too short to not be tolerant of others misjudgments and/or mistakes. And what a drag it would be if people did not screw up the odd time. We are suppose to learn from our mistakes and as my boss so graciously says 1 time is a mistake, twice is a habit but three times is a lifestyle. So if we learn after the first time then there should be no reason to repeat this behaviour or whatever again.

I think that everyone deserve second chances and to reform their lives no matter how heinous the crime that one may have committed.
