Should all public buildings be smoke free?

Our city has a ban on smoking inside public buildings. To a non-smoker it is wonderful. We are so spoiled with the ruling that it is so hard to sit in a restaurant in another town. Should smoking be banned from public places or is that just the beginning of a spiral of bans of everything unhealthy?

Public building should designate a smoking area. Though smoking is dangerous to our health and it is polluting our air, we should still give smokers some space. Builing owners should make sure that the smoking area is enclosed and that no smoke can go out. And those inside must make sure that inhale all the smoke that they made, otherwise they cannot go out( smoker's room must be equipped with smoke sensor lock). LOL. I'm bad.

I am a smoker. I do however agree wholeheartedly with the decision to ban smoking in public buildings. Smokers are the minority and our actions have the ability to seriously affect the health of others. A building is an enclosed space so unless there is adequate ventilation that ensures that no second hand smoke reaches others then it should be banned inside.
