"If ye had known me, ye would have known my Father also: from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him." (ASV)
A popular misconception that is currently floating around some of the more liberal churches (and some non-Christian religions as well) is that Jesus was just a good man, a good teacher, or a prophet. The problem with this is that on multiple occasions, Jesus Himself stated that He is the Son of God. So it stands to reason that either He was in fact the Christ, or He was a liar and a blasphemer.
Who would listen to a teacher or prophet who was so often wrong about his own identity? Who would pay heed to someone who claims to be that which he is not? Many times throughout Christ's teachings here on earth, He made reference to Himself as the Son of God. If a prophet speaks falsely, he is no prophet of God, but a deceiver. A prophet’s teachings must be 100% correct, 100% of the time.
In Matthew 16, Jesus nails down all the rumors and whisperings that were going about concerning Him. He asked His disciples who they think He is. They start out by telling Him all the names that others have given to Him, but eventually Peter is brave enough to speak truth. "And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16 ASV) This would have been a perfect moment for Jesus to set the record straight if He had been only a man. Instead, He confirmed what Peter had said, "And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jonah: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 16:17 ASV)
What’s more, others recognized Jesus as the Christ. At His baptism, God announced Christ’s deity, “and lo, a voice out of the heavens, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:17 ASV) Even the demons knew who He was and trembled, “And behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?” (Matthew 8:29 ASV)
So now, the same question asked of those disciples is posed to each of us. "He saith unto them, But who say ye that I am?" (Matthew 16:15 ASV) This is a question none of us can avoid because it has eternal ramifications. "I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for except ye believe that I am he, ye shall die in your sins." (John 8:24 ASV) Who do you believe Christ is?

When I first joined mylots, it was a little disconcerting to discover a whole group of people who weren't Christian and didn't look at things from the same reference point of someone who believes in Jesus as part of the Trinity or even believing in God! I had always taken it for granted that people believed there was one God and it was our God! What a sheltered life I've lived! On this site I've run across atheists, and people who claim to be believers but who also believe it is okay to practice Wicca, and people who come from non-christian countries whose mindset is totally foreign to ours. What an eye-opener! Anyway, I love your verses! I knew of Matthew 16:16 but for some reason, never thought of God's recognition of Jesus as His son at baptism a good reference one! Duh! for me! And love the one about the demons trembling with fear in His presence! We all need to remember that one! Another one is in Matthew 17 or Mark 9...the Transfiguration...God speaks to the men there and says "This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!"

A sheltered life indeed! I had the good fortune to grow up outside the Bible Belt, in an area where Christianity is not the norm. I would say that probably 90% of the town I lived in were atheists. I say this was fortunate because my faith was tested from the start. I had to learn early on that there is black and white where God's concerned, and I also learned to recognize it while remaining tolerant of people who didn't believe what I believe. The way I see it, if Christ could do all He did for us "while we were yet sinners," I have no reason to look down on anyone who has not yet come to Him!

Well the question asked here is who is JESUS christ ??/
so the appropriate answer could be got in the word of god the bible itself. Jesus lived in heaven as a spirit person before he came to earth. He was god's first creation , and so he is called the "first born" son of god.Fro the scriptural reference u can read Col 1:15 and Rev 3:14
were in it says "he is the image of the invisible god the first born of all creation".Jesus is the only son that god created by himself . Jehovah used the prehuman Jesus as his "master worker" in creating all the other thing in heaven and on earth. For reference we can read Prv 8:22-31 and Col 1:16,17 were in it says "Jehovah himself produced me as the beginning of his way , the earliest of his achivements of laong ago" and so on.God used him as a chief spokesman. That is why Jesus is called "the word".For reference u can read John 1:1-3; Rev 19:13

Considering I was always taught Jesus was the son of God, I can not believe any other way. I would not be able to even consider he was just a mere mortal man. I have read the bible 3 times and there is just WAY too much proof that he is the son of God. I personally do not need proof because I have faith.
