Have you ever noticed your cats looking in to the mirror and standing for long time? What are they doing by that? Are they enjoying theur beuty?Or they thinks that somebody like him/her is their on the other side of mirror who is trying to fight with it or make friendship with it?

If my cats catch themselves in a mirror, they'll stop and look for a few seconds, but when they sniff the direction, they realize it's not a real cat, so they just go off and do their own thing again. I don't think cats know it's them, but think its some projection of another cat, maybe. I think there are very few animals in this world who are actually aware that what they are seeing is a reflection of themselves. Or, it could be possible that they DO know it's them. I don't think there is any way of knowing for sure, though research says they aren't aware. However, research has been wrong before ;) I do know that one time, one of my cats saw their reflection in a mirror and growled lol. It hasn't happened since, though, so they probably figured out it wasn't real. Either way, I think when they look into a mirror and stare, they are just curious and trying to figure out why it looks like a cat if it's not a cat.
