Do you ever get math anxiety?

I just started a basic Math and Geometry course online and I gotta say that though I don't really get the whole "math anxiety" thing that was one of the first questions that the professor wanted to discuss. "What type of math anxiety do you get?" Like everyone in the class is sitting behind their computer in some kind of nervous sheen of sweat. I will say this though. Doing math and geometry on a computer and trying to show your work when you are not allowed to just use a calculator is difficult! And to be quite frank it is giving me a headache!

Your visual image of people sitting behind their computers is funny.
For me,although I have become comfortable with the math I use everyday at work,I have terrible memories of math class. Anything to do with math suddenly makes me feel like I am back in High School watching everybody else in the class "get it" and me being too embarrased to raise my hand when the teacher asks if we want them to go over the example again. Just remember what you are doing is so worth it;don't get discouraged. Definitely don't worry about what math anxiety is and whether or not you are going to have a sudden case of it.

I suffer from math anxiety all the time. I have never been very good with algebra, so my anxiety takes the form of constant doubt in my ability to pursue the subject in depth. This can be a good thing though, because I'm far more ecstatic when I get a correct algebra answer then when I get a right answer in any other subject.
