Bombarded with medical ads.

I feel that we are constantly bombarded with ads for this medication or that one. It even extends to doctors and hospitals now. I just don't feel that it's appropiate to constantly push medicine on a society all ready plagued with extensive drug abuse problems. As far as choosing a doctor or hospital, that should be private and personal. I also don't need to be alerted to every new prescription drug scare/class-action lawsuit offer on a daily basis.

Unfortunately, it is a money thing. There is big money in medicines and quick fixes that may or may not work. Big companies are selfish and money hungry they see a way to make big bucks quickly and we keep buying into it. As long as we as consumers keep buying into the commercials and such, they will keep trying to sell us everything on the market. What upsets me is that they often lie and they can get by with it. How is that legal?

I totally agree with you, villageanne. Unless and until people say "Enough!", this madness is going to continue.

I'd say, i perfectly agree with you. ANd the worst part is, that we are not bombarded just online, in our mailboxes, but also offline. Television adverts, magazines, etc. Man, sometimes i am forced to think. How many kinds of medicines have popped up everywhere. You need a simple cure for a headache, and you'll be referred to and given hundreds of samples that are not even concerned with your problem. I guess we are so used to it, that it makes no difference to us now. I mean, we simply ignore it!

I'm afraid we will continue to be bombarded, lifetalk, until the public speaks out and demands that a halt be called to the insanity.
