I must say its a lil unfair for us employee when our boss got the mistake its his executive assistant's mistake. My boss ask me to release a memorandum addressed to the company's 6 division manager. Its quite bulky so I failed to notice that my boss forgot or failed to sign 2 of the memos. So after the week it was returned and that my boss yelled at me, when in fact it his mistake. Partly I have a mistake too but with my other concerned I might be able not to review all the details because I have other things to attend to. How would you deal with this kind of situation? Well this just gives me a lesson that I must be keen on details next time.

I dont think so..Our bosses should be responsible to protect us from the mistakes that they had done.

It should not be that way. Our should be responsible enough to protect his/her people from the mistakes he had committed.

I can share a story regarding same story . A boss was leaving the job and he handed over two envelopes to new boss saying that you open first envelope when you find company is in real danger and your name is spoiled . Open second one if second time you find problem is very big. After few years this new boss has a major strike in company and felt like he will be thrown out of company so what he did was opened the first envelope and blamed his juniors for what all happened in the company and managed to escape from problem . After some years he was again in problem and opened the second envelope immediately and to his surprise ( even mine too ) , He was asked to create two enevolpe for his successors :).
