Have you ever thought about having a real windmill?

I think it would be so neat to have one of these in my yard to power my house. Not only are they beautiful, but very practical. I like to consider myself an environmentalist, and this would be a great way to help the environment. I don't use any gas anyway, my house is all electric, but I think more houses should be built with alternate ways to generate electricity. I wonder why solar panels never gained more popularity. Hmm... sounds like another idea for a discussion! I tried to put a picture of the type of wind mill I was referring to, so I hope it get's posted...

I agree with you, that would be neat. But windmill normally big in size in order to generate enough electricity. I'm still using gas (LPG that is) for cooking, simply because I'm leaving in a company house and that's what they provide. But gas is another form of clean energy, and for cooking I think it's much better than electricity because it cooks faster...

I agree with you that, it is high time for us to get some orientation on the possibility of having windmills and solar panels, in our yards and rooftops, to generate the needed electrical power to run our houses. This will greatly help us against polluting the earth much faster. I believe that this technology has never taken off because the oil producing giants do not desire their use in the residential houses. As this can mean, a dramatic cut-off of the demand for their products. Less demand, lesser price, lesser income. They don't want this to happen.
