Gossipy people

I just try and avoid it. I have all the friends I need and don't need to fill out an application for friendship from people like that. The best thing is to just put them on ignore in my opinion.

We have a neighbor like that. I avoid her whenever possible. She fills everyone in on all she thinks she knows. Half the time the gossip she is spreading isn't even the truth which can really cause some problems with the nieghbors. Thankfully she doesn't come near us that often but she did try in the past. I think she's gotten the hint now that we aren't interested in knowing what everyone else is doing or not doing.

I don't have many friends as I cannot be bothered with all the gossip, lol. I have a few good ones and never gossip about anyone but myself.

I have an ex-sister-in-law that would run everyone in my family down, but me whenever she ran into me. Of course she would include me in the tongue lashing with the next person she would engage in conversation. She is something else.

I try to avoid gossip, but I always get sucked in. I like harmless gossip, the sort of thing that we catch each other up one our lives and events in our friends lives, too. The sort of gosspi I don't like is the type that would constitue a betrayal of trust or confidence, and the mean spirited sort. I try to avoid hearing or responding to that stuff. I have one friend that can be very brusque and comes out with a larger percentage then I like of that type of thing, but I just don't comment and let the topic lie.
