How do you feel about your teachers?

Where I live, I hear complaints from kids about their teachers all the time. Many of the teachers in our district give kids busy work while they talk on their cell phones. There's a geometry teacher who calls his students names like "stupid" and "idiot." One teacher, who was also the football coach, got into a fist fight with another coach on the same team. They both ended up bloody. One got fired, the other didn't, and he retained his job as a gym teacher. The kids aren't spending time learning how to be critical and creative thinkers. Instead, everything is based on how to do well on the standardized tests.That's just a few things. How do you feel about the teachers in your area? Are they overpaid? Are they competent?
