Can anyone please tell me the advantages of e-bike or yo-bike. It is ranging between 20 thousand to 30 thousand rupees. Is it worth buying. If you know please tell me about others bikes of that sort. I heard about bikes which can be used both ways like, either motor or manual. Which is convenient for women? I intend to journey say about 15km to 30 km to and fro. Recent ads like Atlas, Hero cycles have given their bike details in their sites but I wish to know your personal experiences if any. I wish to know if I can get it cheaper like for about 8 thousand rupees.

I own a Synergie ebike-It cost £300 last year, and by using it for work(good weather/summer) and short shopping trips,I've saved that much in taxi fares already! The bike has 5 speed Shimano gears, and folds so It can go in the boot of a car/bus.. It can go 3 ways-unpowered-just you and the gears...secondly,on battery power alone-there's a twist grip throttle on the handlebar..just twist and go..however,an ebike is NOT a motorbike-to qualify legally to not require tax, license or Insurance,(and a crash helmet)it's speed and power are limited (to 15mph under motor power alone..faster is possible by pedalling and use of gears)you may have a problem getting up hills under motor power alone..which is where the third mode comes in...called pedelec PED(al) ELEC(tric),ie.when you pedal, the motor gives you a boost to get up a hill, and extends the range you can travel with little effort on the level..Range is around 20+ miles per charge. There is one legal requirement (UK) that the rider is 14 or over..I could recommend these machines to any cyclist or commuter,Male or Female.

The Month of May here where I am in Ireland has been fine, and I've been using my bike regularly to commute to work-My 2 weekly fillup of the car is on hold at the moment,as I haven't put any petrol into the car since the end of April!
