Senators Feingold and Reid are right.

Ok, I don't agree with what they are doing, and I hope they are unsuccessful, but they are right to do what they are doing.
Sen. Feingold and Major Leader Harry Reid have cosponsored a bill that would cut the funding or the war in Iraq. While I strongly disagree with that, they are in their authority to do so.
In their reelection campaigns, they ran saying that a vote for them is a vote to cut funding. They are following through on that promise.
I hope they fail, but I'm glad they are living up to what they said they'll do, and using legal and Constitutional means to do it.

Both Senator Reid and Finegold were re elected in 2004 and did not run on defunding the war. I do not know of a Democratic who ran on the platform of defunding the troops. They all said they supported the troops and are now showing their support with a 24 Billion Dollar pork bill to pull out of Iraq.
I hope they bring just the funding question to the full Senate, where I am sure it will fail. Support for the war would be stronger if the Media were telling the truth insetead of being a mouth peice for the enemy.

I disagree, Reid and Feingold have both been major leaders of the "bring the troops home" effort. Feingold voted against declaring war from the beginning. Reid voted for the declaration, but has been very vocal about bringing the troops home for most of it.
I do agree though, if the press would lift their self imposed ban on accomplishments and successes in Iraq, public opinion would be much different.

After reading all this there is not much to add.
I would say that Senators Feingold and Reid are right in their methods and wrong in their assessments and goals.
We need to finish the job we went to do. That won't happen until the situation that we created is resolved and Iraq is secure and stable enough for the government that the Iraqi people voted in cna survive against the terrorist attacks.
Bush has said we will be there until the Iraqi Government asks us to leave or until Iraq is stable, whichever comes first.
