Do any of you know about any good freelance writing sites? I am new to this online writing business, but I have a B.A. in communication and journalism, I won many awards in college, and I love writing. What are the criteria for signing up at these sites, and for actually making a profi? Do you earn back the sign up fees/monthly fees, and what kind of work do you do? Is it purely proof reading, or is it article writing as well? Finally, can you recommend any sites, and why do you recommend them. I am completely new to this, and I am really trying my best to sort through the online jungle. I thank you all in advance for any tips or advice.

You can try these sites, some are better than others, but its a good place to start. I just started freelancing from home and make pretty good money at it. I am signed up with a few of these sites and with some individual companies as well. I mostly write web content articles at this point. I am roughly making $200 per week at this point, which isn't a lot but I am just getting into this as well. I have only been doing it for about two months. The pay for some articles is not the greatest, but I figure when I am just starting out I cant be too choosy and it still brings in a good extra income. The more experience I get the more money I will be able to make. I can get you work right away if you want it, the pay is substandard, but like I said it is roughly $200 per week for about 35-50 short 350-600 word articles. And that is just from one company, if you work for more than one you could make much more. The company I work for now needs more writers, in fact I just got an email asking for 15 articles ASAP. If you want the info, contact me and I will get you connected to start working right away. You work as a independent contractor so you can choose to work when you want or not at all. Here are some sites you can check out too. Not sure about all of them, I have only used a couple of them. www.elance.com www.guru.com www.writerlance.com www.getafreelancer.com www.ifreelance.com www.gofreelance.com My favorite is www.associatedcontent.com

Oh, and don't pay money to join a site! I have not been doing this long but I have gotten plenty of work without paying a dime! If they ask for money walk away. I would rather work for less money than get caught up in a scam. I forgot to add that in my response.
