WORST VIRUS EVER --- CNN ANNOUNCED
A new virus has just been discovered that has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive ever. This virus was discovered yesterday afternoon by McAfee . This virus simply destroys Sector Zero from the hard disk, where vital information for its functioning are stored.
This virus acts in the following manner:
It sends itself automatically to all contacts on your list with the title:
"A Card for You".
As soon as the supposed virtual card is opened the computer freezes so
that the user has to reboot. When the ctrl+ alt+ del keys or the reset button are pressed, the virus destroys Sector Zero, thus permanently destroying the hard disk. Yesterday in just a few hours this virus caused panic in New York , according to news broadcast by CNN.
This alert was received by an employee of Microsoft itself.
So don't open any mails with subject: "A Virtual Card for You" As soon as you get the mail, delete it !! Even if you know the sender !!!

this is a hoax, it's been around for years. Even McAfee calls it a hoax. check their description here: http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_98893.htm
There's also info on it at breakthechain www.breakthechain.org/exclusives/icard4u.html

You are several years behind the times with this, and it was a hoax.
Obviously the genuine destruction of sector zero will mean that you would need a new hard drive, but this is not likely to happen. The email that you have copied above is the original email hoax that circulated, and several others have evolved since.

Thank your for the infortmaion and I will be more cautious in those emails which have no title or sender name as well.I will delete those suspiciuos emails.
It seems tha it is getting less safe on the internet as I read a discussion about a hacker link in mylot, so members should be more careful on the net.

I wonder if this virus was an email I deleted a couple of days ago? It was from a virtual postcard company that looked legitimate, but was signed that it was from a 'Family Member'. Thanks for the heads up. I make a point to delete nearly everything just in case, because of things like this floating around.

Hi there. Thanks for telling this dangerous virus. I can receive many spam emails everyday in my email account, but thanks for your kindly reminder, I would never open them any longer. Since the microsoft has detected this virus, there must be some patches to prevent this virus from destroying our hard disk, hope this process would not be long.
BTW, your avatar is very interesting and I like it.
