When did your baby outgrow having reflux?

My son is a little over 5 months old. He had severe reflux and projectile vomiting when he was younger and was put on zantac. Now he is off the zantac but still has some reflux. Not really vomiting anymore, some spit up, but I can see clear liquid coming up sometimes and it looks like reflux to me. But he isn't in pain anymore from it which is why they told me to stop the zantac. So can anyone tell me when reflux in infants usually stops?
