I have been using Windows XP Professional on my Laptop over an year now and was thinking of installing "Windows Vista".
I have heard a lot about this new OS by Microsoft.
Whats your call on "Windows Vista". Is it worth making the change ?

My new notebook came pre-installed with Vista Home Basic and I am already having problems with my SQL 2000 Personal Edition and IIS. I have to upgrade to Vista Home Ultimate in order to run IIS and I need tp put in SQL 2005 with SP2 for the SQL to run on it. Such a hassle. Microsoft is still laughing to the bank.

My Network Engineer has told me that my Laptop is having quite a nice configuration and Vista would run fine on it.
But, you know....... everytime you make a switch over to a new OS..... you have your own reservations.
Why dont you try MySQL. I have a few Websites and I have configured their database on MYSQL. I think thats better coz they attract quite a nice amount of users and if I configure the Database on SQL, I need to buy SQL Database space from my "Hosting Company" and the MS SQL database come in sizes of 200MB per table. Or, I have to setup my own Hosting server. And that would be a big setup cost along with a T3 connection and all that.

A friend of mine who has worked with computers for most of his life told me that Windows Vista has about a million flaws, and is Microsoft's biggest mistake. I have XP and that's as far as I am going. I love XP and it works well with my other programs. I would not change to Windows Vista for a million dollars! Besides, they're probably already working on the NEXT major oporating system. It's just a waste of time to install a new one when the old one works so well.
